Amanda Witt is a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Atlanta office in the Information Management Group. Her practice focuses on the areas of information technology, information security and privacy, e-commerce, outsourcing, intellectual property protection and transactions, software development and licensing, entertainment/media, mergers and acquisitions, business planning and formation along with general corporate counseling. 

Ms. Witt has worked with clients ranging from publicly and privately held companies, private equity and mezzanine funds, financial services firms, insurance and reinsurance companies, and third party administrators to software developers, television content providers, entrepreneurs, and entertainers in all aspects of their matters. 

Her representative experience includes 

  • drafting various technology agreements, including traditional licensing, software development, hosting agreements, Web site co-branding agreements, and Web site development agreements;
  • advising clients on protection and licensing of copyrights, trademarks, trade secret, and related intellectual property rights;
  • information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing relationships;
  • software license and development relationships;
  • reviewing Web sites for intellectual property, privacy, and a variety of other Internet legal issues;
  • mergers and acquisitions of privately held companies;
  • various privacy and security issues relating to e-business transactions;
  • corporate finance and venture capital;
  • joint ventures and strategic alliance;
  • dispute avoidance and dispute resolutions relating to IT/Outsourcing relationships; and
  • negotiation of producer, distribution and management agreements in the music and television industries.

Ms. Witt earned her LL.M. in International Intellectual Property, magna cum laude, in 2004 from Catholic University at Leuven, Belgium. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2000 from Emory University School of Law and was named a William D. Ferguson Scholar. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in 1996 from the University of Florida, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
