William J. Ching is a partner of the Corporate and Securities Group of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta where he chairs the Firm's Private Equity and Venture Capital Practice Group. Mr. Ching provides value-added business and strategic advice to companies, private equity funds, venture capital funds, and financial institutions related to:

Mr. Ching is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Private Equity and Venture Capital, and Corporate Banking and Business Law Sections of the American Bar Association. Mr. Ching was recently named as a Rising Star by the Georgia Super Lawyers in the mergers and acquisitions category. This honor was based on surveys sent to more than 23,500 attorneys in Georgia, who were asked to vote for the best lawyers they had personally observed in action.

Mr. Ching is active in his community where he regularly provides pro bono assistance to the Atlanta Urban League by advising minority entrepreneurs with respect to business and finance strategies. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Cliff Valley School.

In 1996, Mr. Ching completed a joint degree program and earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Duke University School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.  He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with distinction, from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992 where he was a member of honorary societies including Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Eta Sigma. In 1986, Mr. Ching scored a basket on Michael Jordan.
