Dowse Bradwell “Brad” Rustin, IV is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in Greenville, South Carolina in the areas bankruptcy, business litigation, class action defense, consumer financial services litigation, financial regulation, and product liability. Mr. Rustin represents corporate clients and individuals in financial and contractual matters. Mr. Rustin's practice consists largely of representing defendants and plaintiffs in litigation involving financial disputes; creditors in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings; financial regulatory compliance and litigation; and commercial and special asset collection litigation, foreclosure, and receivership. Mr. Rustin works with financial services firms of all types, including consumer lenders, credit unions, and state and national banks. Mr. Rustin has assisted clients in both state and federal class action litigation.
Mr. Rustin is admitted to practice in all civil and bankruptcy courts in the State of South Carolina. He is a member of the Greenville County Bar, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Rustin earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University South Carolina, School of Law in 2006. While in law school, he served as associate student works editor for the South Carolina Law Review. Mr. Rustin was the recipient of the Compleat Lawyer Award for the Graduating Class of 2006 and was the recipient of the CALI (Am. Jur.) Award for Contracts I, Contracts II, Civil Procedure, and Bioethics. Mr. Rustin was named to the Order of the Coif, Order of the Wig and Robe and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers. Mr. Rustin served as Chief Judge of the Mock Trial Bar and was an Associate Justice of the Moot Court Bar. Mr. Rustin captained both the Moot Court and Mock Trial Teams. Mr. Rustin was named the recipient of the 2005 Koleman Karesh Award, for highest grade point average in his class. In 2003, Mr. Rustin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History, cum laude, from Furman University.
Mr. Rustin is the author of several articles in various legal publications and speaks on a number of issues:
