Brandon Woods is an associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta where he practices in the areas of information technology, information security and privacy, software development and licensing, international mergers and acquisitions and general corporate counseling. Brandon has experience drafting, negotiating and advising clients in the area of software licensing and related services, including open source software licensing. In addition, Brandon is routinely engaged in international mergers and acquisitions for technology and travel related focused clients. Brandon has prepared a variety of security compliance policies and regulation requirements for technology clients who require payment services, including Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, he worked for leading international companies in the software and technology related fields for more than twelve years. Brandon’s experience in application development, software management, technology consulting, and team and project management has provided a strong technical and managerial background for his legal practice.

As a legal associate for an international software and service provider, Brandon’s work focused on software vendor contracts, negotiation of software and service licensing, and filings under the Securities acts of 1933 and 1934.

In 2010, while working full-time in the software and legal fields, Brandon earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Charleston School of Law. While in law school, Brandon was a member of the Charleston Law Review, an Honor Council Member, and was a CALI Award Winner for Contracts I.

Brandon earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, cum laude, with an emphasis on software development and business applications from Winthrop University in 1997.
