Gary L. Capps is an associate in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Columbia office where his practice focuses in the areas of business law and taxation.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Capps served as a law clerk for the Honorable J. Michael Baxley of the South Carolina Circuit Court.
During law school, Mr. Capps served as a law clerk for the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee. Other background experience includes his work as a research assistant to the dean of the University of South Carolina School of Law and an internship for the Honorable William W. Wilkins of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Capps earned a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2007. In 2005, he earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mr. Capps earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Asian Studies from Furman University in 2002.
