James F. McCrackin is a partner in the Myrtle Beach office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate law, taxation law, and real estate development.

Mr. McCrackin is a Certified Specialist in Taxation Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Supreme Court of South Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the North Carolina Bar. He has served as Chair of the Tax Law Section of the South Carolina Bar and as a member of the Specialization Advisory Board for Estate Planning and Probate Law in South Carolina. Mr. McCrackin also has experience in counseling clients in the acquisition, financing, franchising, and management of hotel and other hospitality related properties and negotiating and drafting franchise agreements, and hotel management agreements.

Mr. McCrackin received a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1993. In 1991, he received a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Order of Wig and Robe. Mr. McCrackin received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of South Carolina in 1986.
