A. Marvin Quattlebaum, Jr. serves as the Business Litigation Practice Group Co-Chair of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and as a member of the Firm’s Management Group. Mr. Quattlebaum practices in the areas of product liability litigation, business litigation, and other complex civil litigation.
A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Quattlebaum is admitted to practice before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. He regularly appears in jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Mr. Quattlebaum is President of the South Carolina Bar. He serves on the Bar's Board of Governors and in its House of Delegates, and chairs its Commission on Lawyers Helping Lawyers. He also serves on the Board of the South Carolina Bar Foundation, of which he is a Life Fellow.
Mr. Quattlebaum is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates; the Product Liability Steering Committee of the American Law Firm Association; the Defense Research Institute; the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association; the American Bar Association; the United States Supreme Court Historical Society; and the Greenville County Bar Association.
He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, South Carolina Super Lawyers, Legal 500, and is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
In 2009, the University of South Carolina honored Mr. Quattlebaum with its distinguished Compleat Lawyer award, which recognizes alumni for outstanding civic and professional accomplishments.
In 1989, Mr. Quattlebaum earned a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review, the Order of the Coif, and the Order of Wig and Robe. Additionally, he served as a legal writing instructor. In 1986, Mr. Quattlebaum earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Rhodes College where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board, and Omicron Delta Kappa.
