P. Mason Hogue, Jr., a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, practices in Columbia in the areas of corporate law, economic development, information management, intellectual property law, outsourcing, and technology law. A member of the State Bar of Georgia and the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Hogue has devoted a significant part of his practice to representing growth companies, with a particular focus on technology-related companies with respect to corporate, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, securities, strategic alliance, outsourcing, and licensing matters.

Mr. Hogue is listed in The Best Lawyers in America. He was named the Best Lawyers' 2012 Columbia-SC Securities/Capital Markets Law Lawyer of the Year. In addition, Mr. Hogue has been recognized in the Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business publication for his experience in Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions for the past eight years (2004-2011).

Mr. Hogue serves on a pro bono basis as general counsel to the Palmetto Biotechnology Alliance, FuelCellSouth and the Software Developers Association of the Midlands, and is a member of these organizations. Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of EngenuitySC. He also is a member of the Committee of 100 (former board member), Columbia Chamber of Commerce (former board member), the South Carolina Economic Developers Association, the South Carolina Investor Network, and the Columbia Technology Entrepreneurs Council. He is a 2005 graduate of Leadership South Carolina.

In 1992, Mr. Hogue was First Honor Graduate when he earned a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he served as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. He earned a Master of International Business Studies degree from the University of South Carolina in 1988, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina in 1986.
