Ralston B. Vanzant, II is a partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP who practices in Columbia in the areas of corporate law, tax and commercial real estate. Mr. Vanzant is the partner-in-charge of the Real Estate Group for Nelson Mullins-Columbia and is the Chairman of the Nelson Mullins - Real Estate Industry Group. A member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Vanzant has extensive experience in the purchase, sale, leasing, financing and management of undeveloped timberland as well as of commercial and residential projects.

An active member of the South Carolina Bar, Mr. Vanzant served as chairman of the Bar's Real Estate Practices Section from 1985-86, and as chairman of the Banking and Securities Law Section from 1981-82. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas, the Palmetto Land Title Association (vice chairman, Bar Liaison Committee, 1978-80), the Richland County Bar Association (Real Estate Section Council, 1985-86), and the South Carolina Economic Developers Association. Mr. Vanzant has been listed in every issue of The Best Lawyers in America since its inception in 1983.

In 1972, Mr. Vanzant earnd a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law where he served as dean of Delta Theta Phi. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia in 1969.
