- Representation of numerous clients in filing amicus curiae briefs in appellate litigation, including the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the North Carolina Medical Society, the North Carolina Hospital Association, the North Carolina Psychiatric Association, and the North Carolina Psychological Association;
- Representation of healthcare providers in appeals of licensure decisions by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services;
- Representation of healthcare providers in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement disputes, including challenging recoupment decisions by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services; and
- Representation of healthcare providers in professional licensing matters before the North Carolina Medical Board and other professional licensing boards.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Hollowell served as law clerk to N.C. Supreme Court Justice Willis P. Whichard. Mr. Hollowell has served as the Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association's Health Law Section (2010-2011). He has also served as President of the North Carolina Society of Healthcare Attorneys (2006-2007). Mr. Hollowell is also a member of the American Bar Association (Health Law Section) and the American Health Lawyers Association.
In 2004, Mr. Hollowell was selected by the Triangle Business Journal for its 40 Under 40 award, which recognizes outstanding Research Triangle leaders under 40 years of age. Mr. Hollowell has also been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2007-2012) in the area of Health Care Law. Mr. Hollowell is also a 2006 graduate of Leadership Raleigh, a select program of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.Mr. Hollowell earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1997, where he was a member of the Virginia Law Review. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa.
