The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Affordable Care Act or ACA), made significant changes to Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to reduce fraud, waste, and abuse at the provider enrollment level of program participation.
