Weekly Legislative Update
The North Carolina General Assembly is preparing to end the 2009 Legislative Session next week. During action this week the General Assembly approved a compromise version of the State Budget. Governor Bev Perdue (D-Craven) is expected to sign the budget legislation into law. The Senate held its final substantive daily legislative session today and the House is scheduled to hold the last daily sessions of the House on Monday and Tuesday. We offer this abbreviated report, with plans to revise and update our legislative report in the middle of next week based upon the final action of the 2009 legislative session.
