Connie Myers is a governmental relations consultant in the Washington, D.C. office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP.  In this capacity, Ms. Myers is responsible for developing government relations strategies aimed at strengthening support for clients' interests in congressional and administrative activities.
 
Ms. Myers currently serves on the board of College Summit, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students from low-income communities through the college admissions process.  She has also served as a project consultant at Reading is Fundamental Inc., America’s oldest and largest children and family literacy organization, managing a nationwide partnership program to promote achievements of youth in reading and community service.
 
As former Chief of Staff in the Office of Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education, Ms. Myers developed and led national education outreach initiatives and served as a liaison with educators, business and community leaders, and elected officials at the national, state and local levels.  She served on the Labor Management Partnership Council and represented the Secretary of Education on various boards and committees.
 
While at the U.S. Department of Education, Ms. Myers also served as special assistant to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Education.
 
Prior to her service in the U.S. Department of Education, Ms. Myers worked for U.S. House of Representatives member Butler C. Derrick.  As a legislative assistant, she handled state and federal issues on transportation, public works, economic development, grants and special projects.  As staff assistant to the Chief Deputy Majority Whip, Ms. Myers handled policy issues related to legislation for consideration on the House floor and assisted in organizing task forces to monitor support of key legislative initiatives.

Ms. Myers earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1986.
