Kathy Shannon is a government relations consultant at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Columbia where she assists clients with lobbying and other governmental relations matters before the S.C. General Assembly and state agencies.

With more than 20 years experience in government relations, Ms. Shannon has served as a registered lobbyist for a number of clients.

Prior to associating with Nelson Mullins, Ms. Shannon served as Director of Governmental Affairs for the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, where she developed and executed legislative programs, represented the organization in legislative meetings, and monitored legislative matters. After six years as an educator, Ms. Shannon worked in paralegal positions for the South Carolina Coastal Council, and Clawson and Staubes, Attorneys at Law.  She is not an attorney.

Ms. Shannon earned a Master of Education in Administration from the University of South Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University.
