Kristi VanderLaan Kung Joins Nelson Mullins in Raleigh

RALEIGH (Sept. 19, 2011)Kristi V. Kung has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Raleigh office as an associate where she practices healthcare law. Her practice focuses on regulatory and transactional healthcare matters.

Prior to joining Nelson Mullins, Ms. Kung worked as an associate for a law firm in Virginia practicing regulatory and administrative healthcare law.  In 2010, she was recognized as a Virginia Rising Star in Healthcare.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2008. During law school, Ms. Kung worked at the Department of Health and Human Services – Office for Civil Rights in Atlanta, Georgia where she conducted legal research regarding the interaction between HIPAA and state laws and answered questions from the public and providers regarding HIPAA privacy. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies- Law and Society with an emphasis in Bioethics, Humanities and Society in 2005 from Michigan State University.
