Amy Baker Mandragouras Named Managing Partner in Boston

Mandragouras BOSTON (Jan. 21, 2011) -- Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP has named Amy Baker Mandragouras, an intellectual property lawyer with a focus on the biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences industries, managing partner of its Boston office.

In appointing Ms. Mandragouras, the law firm takes a leading position in Boston’s biotechnology, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals area of law, where intellectual property issues carry particular current challenges in the U.S. and abroad. With more than 20 years in that   discipline, she has developed long-term relationships with executives and scientists in the industries’ major companies and incubator businesses alike.

Her appointment as managing partner follows the recent combination of Nelson Mullins with Boston-based Lahive & Cockfield, a firm where Ms. Mandragouras was chair of the executive committee.

Ms. Mandragouras’ experience includes strategic counseling in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals industries, and she advises clients in the development and implementation of intellectual-property strategies, through all phases -- from start-up through maturity, through financing, and in the formation of strategic alliances.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law in 1992. In 1988, Ms. Mandragouras earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Bates College.
