Five Nelson Mullins Attorneys Named to N.C. 'Legal Elite'
(Jan. 6, 2011) -- Business North Carolina magazine has named five Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP attorneys to its "2011 Legal Elite," a roster of North Carolina attorneys selected by their peers as the most effective in their practice areas:
- William H. Gammon (Raleigh) was named for his construction practice;
- Denise Gunter (Winston-Salem) was named for her antitrust practice;
- David Harlow (Raleigh) was named for his intellectual property practice;
- Leon M. "Chip" Killian (Raleigh) was named for his real estate practice; and
- Bill Starr (Charlotte) was selected in the "young guns" category.
Business North Carolina magazine provides ballots to all members of the North Carolina Bar to vote on whom they rate as the best in their fields. Respondents cannot vote for themselves, but can vote for other members of their firms as long as they vote for an equal or greater number from other firms. About 3 percent of the state's attorneys make the list, according to the publication.
