Nelson Mullins' Tom Sullivan to Discuss Small Business Red Tape Relief

sullivanWASHINGTON, DC (Aug. 8, 2011) -- Tom Sullivan, of counsel in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Washington, DC, office, will present his views on small business red tape relief to legislative leaders at the National Conference of State Legislatures summit in San Antonio on Aug. 10. The panel discussion is entitled Creating Jobs by Reducing State Regulations.

Mr. Sullivan runs the Small Business Coalition for Regulatory Relief. Prior to starting the coalition, Mr. Sullivan served as the Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration from 2002-2008.  After being confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate, Mr. Sullivan worked with several states to craft regulatory flexibility legislation that guarantees small business a seat at the table when regulatory decisions are made.  The model bill was considered by 37 state legislatures and signed by 25 governors.

In addition to his work with the coalition, Mr. Sullivan represents the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) and other business groups before Congress and federal agencies.
