Nelson Mullins Offering Free Wills to First Responders
COLUMBIA -- First responders are encouraged to have their wills drawn up free of charge during Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Wills for Heroes day Sept. 9 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at their Columbia office, 1320 Main St., 17th Floor.
The Nelson Mullins Wills for Heroes program was developed in response to the tragedies of Sept. 11, 2001. Since that time, the law firm has provided thousands of free wills to first responders throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
"As we near the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Nelson Mullins has only become stronger in our commitment to provide free wills to our local heroes," said Michael Anzelmo, who heads up the pro bono effort in Columbia. "It is our intention to do as many wills as possible on Sept. 9, but we are available to assist first responders and their spouses throughout the year."
First responders interested in a free will should register with the law firm by August 20th by calling Jennifer Lee at 803.255.5547 or jennifer.lee@nelsonmullins.com. For more information on the program, visit http://www.nelsonmullins.com/pages/wills-for-heroes/367.
